hampton's beach house

This weekend I took an up-close tour of a beach house in the Hampton's designed by Mariette Himes Gomez.

My favorites features: the art (!!), the pillows, the enormous front porch, the abundance of sunshine, and close access to the beautiful beach. I get a little carried away taking pictures of architecture + interiors so prepare for an overload.

There is something irresistible about the ocean.

What every beach house needs... lots and lots of towels.

(You may recognize the house from this post.)

Wow that place is awesome. How do you get so lucky to tour these places?

I agree, the beach is just so inviting!

Great pics by the way!

What a beautiful home. I've been trying to decide what color I want to pant my bedroom and after looking at these pics I think I've settled on something similar to the the room with the arched ceiling. I love how bright and cheery it is. I think I better go get some paint samples this week.

Your interior (and exterior) photos turned out so well. What kind of camera do you use? (lenses and equipment, too.) I need to invest in a good camera to shoot interiors, but don't know where to begin.

Thank you! The camera I use is a Canon Rebel Xsi. It is an entry level digital SLR and it has been great as a basic starter camera. For these shots I used the stock 18-55 lens, and I also use a 55mm f/1.8 fixed lens. The next lens I would love to own is a good wide angle, I think they are ideal for interior shots.

bhphotovideo.com is where I buy all of my camera gear.

Thanks, Jill! I grew up with Caitlin Creer's husband and have loved getting to know Caitlin since they moved back. She raves about you.

I am having camera envy. Did u take photography classes or just start shooting?

I didn't take any courses. Reading the camera manual helped to learn about what my camera can do, my friend Kathryn also gave me a booklet from a course she took, and I follow a lot of photographers websites that give great tips.

Oh my goodness. Houses like this really do exist!!! I'm an Australian and I gaze amazingly at homes leading up to the beach like these solid structures. So beautiful. We really don't have these types of homes...
